PS3 VS XBOX

The Sony Ps3, because of its build in blue-ray player which comes with free Wi-Fi since day one out performs rival Microsoft 360. At the time when the Xbox 360 was first released the company was charging $99 to its customers who wanted wireless on their Xbox 360 and $199 if customers wanted to play HD DVD are now obsolete thanks to Blue-Ray and also add the yearly fee of $50 for Xbox live it brought the total for an Xbox 360 to $647. At the time Ps3 were just $399. That was a $248 bonus you could have saved if you bought a Ps3.

As well as being an over-price console, the Xbox 360 suffered from the famous Red ring of death which was cause by systems over-heating. In 2010 a survey of over 500,000 people (Nofussreviews.com) show us that the Xbox 360 had a 42% failure rate compare to the Ps3 8%. Yes the 360 is still showing more numbers in sales of unit, but look at the failure rate of the console. That means many consumers re-bought the Xbox 360 once their console broke down.

Also the Ps3 beats the Xbox 360 with its exclusive games. At the time of each console release the Ps3 did in fact lack great quality games, which many Xbox fans pointed out and brought down on the throats of Ps3 fans. But the time has change. Whenever someone hears the name Xbox 360 they instantly think of just Halo or Gears of War. When someone hears the name Ps3 they think of games such as Uncharted 1 and 2, God of war 3, Little Big Planet 1 and 2, Resistance 1 and 2 and so on. If you visit Metacritic.com you can look at the ratings of each console exclusive game. The Ps3 vastly defeats the Xbox 360.

Thus bringing me to my final point to my essay. Sony offers online access for free, while Microsoft first charged a yearly fee of $50 but apparently they want more money as of November 1, 2010. Xbox live was hiked to $60 a year (majornelson.com). One will think Microsoft with the ad revenue, they make from all the millions of Xbox would of offered the online access for free or maybe have dropped the price since they fill the Xbox dashboard with so many with ads (kotaku.com) but they have not. How great must it be, turning on your Xbox 360 and seeing a McDonald advertise about being a dollar menu guy.

In conclusion, if you are looking for the best bang for your buck. You should buy a Ps3. Sony has built the Ps3 for the future with its blue-ray player, and a wide range of games such as action and adventures, shooters, and Platforms. While Microsoft is sucking their consumer pockets dry with its failed HD DVD player, and 3 different Xbox consoles they came prior before finally offering an Xbox 360 with build in Wi-Fi and a better build to keep the system from over-heating and dying. -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360; -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ps3
